Ok so I have my car booked in for a retune on the 12th of October at ASG in Perth. I am getting a turbo back exhaust fitted and an open source Verso tune on my 08 Sti Wagon (Auto).

After contacting the tuners and asking them their opinions etc they have informed me that in their opinion after market TMIC and intake are not really worth doing and they have found no real gains from these. They suggested looking at replacing the turbo and/or headers.

I dont know if I totally agree with what they have told me but would like your opinion on possible turbo/header upgrades. Ultimately I would like to aim for around 240kw atw.

I will probably still do the TMIC but not entirely sure where to go with this either? I have considered a Process West like Rome however there is the issue of engine covers etc not fitting, or I could just go with an AVO?

I believe Perrin has a good top mount that fits under the engine cover. Bigger and cheaper than the AVO unit. Speak to Tony (senator) about this. It can also be picked up at a pretty good price with our strong Aussie dollar.

Just spoke to Phat and he gave me some good advice. Yer I think I will look into getting the Perrin top mount.

btw Phat GT has built many car still running OEM headers putting out 250+......... headers shouldn't be your issue, just be sure to get the supporting mods, turbo, tbe, intake, fuel system, etc. and of course a stable tune!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I did it again I would get the process west tmic and mod the plastic engine cover to suit.

I've got an avo...perrin aren't that much bigger, but PW one is huge!

Phat told me the Perrin is esentially as big as the Process West as the Perrin is deeper while the PW is wider.

Just a question, does anyone know if you get any hoses when you buy a top mount or you just have to use the stock ones? If I was wanting to change these to silicon hoses to match some others, where would I best look?

only doing half the job if that's the case
you'll need something much bigger for 240ATW (TD06-20G+ and plenty of boost)
