Extractors for the 2.5T

So what is the collective wisdom on these?
Talking to an (2.5) STi owner on the W/E, he found extractors on his car made another 12kW. He had already done a dump pipe (and mid pipe I think), larger top mount, CAI and ECUTEK. He had the car tuned again after the extractors. No increase in exhaust noise he said.
Improved spool up I'm guessing would be the biggest advantage.
I've done dump pipe and ECUTEK so a re-tune would be simple.
Are extractors the next logical step?

I've been reading up about headers myself.
Hows this look?

Something i'd probably be interested in along those lines..
Have you had much luck doing your own research?

Just wondering if it will be compatible with our LHD vehicles and also the 07, with new turbo?
I'm also pretty keen to get something like this.

Do we also have to be mind full of equal length vs. unequal length in terms of retaining the boxer burble?
I've seen things on US site but not sure about compatability as stated above.
I'll get back to my STi mate and see if he knows what's on his.

Depends on how much of a gain youre after - all out performance gains you will have to go equal length headers and loose the boxer burble.
OR
Keep the boxer burble but go un equal length headers but larger than std (which no respected tuner will make as there is no point doing this from their point of view) in pipe diameter and get some gains.

Yes, the headers will not interfer with any of the components that are different between the LHD and RHD cars.
And it should fit as the US have always only had the 2.5 GT and the headers join up to the up pipe not the turbo itself.
The turbo housing should be the same as the USDM GT as well.

lol!
Those Perrin's are equal length, which is something i'd consider.
I'm trying to stay full jdm things for my car.. but somehow i think i'll have to go custom for some things -_-
Keep us updated on what you find out mate

One that Sean at S&J made which has an MRT collector from the turbo then 3" (inc cat) that tapers to the mid pipe. I think.

Michael the Liberty has equal length headers already as they have the twin scroll turbo instead of the single scroll. I have the Perrin myself which are at S & J if you want to check them out.

OzSti - what is your power figure with those mods?
And what was the stock figure before any mods?

I'm sure I'm correct saying when the Libs went to 2.5 they reverted back to single scroll and unequal length headers.
Boxer - 163 kW ATW when dyno'd during Ecutech tune. I think it's generally accepted the stock 2.5 in the Liberty makes around 130ish. Add 6 or 7 (ATW) for the STi Lib I'd guess.

Don't be too concerned with max dyno fig, it won't be massive, there will be improvement top end, but the major benefit will be midrange.
