Seriously I thought I was on a hybrid forum for a second with all these fuel consumption posts then realised I clicked on this thread

I keep my car in S# ALL the time and I average 11.0-11.8L/100kms off every tank of petrol, depends on what mood I'm in and how quick I need to get to work on a given day too! I spend on average $70 per week which is fine for me, I don't like using I or S mode because they are crap and make the car feel like a slug

Around town I'm about the 10L/100km-10.5/100km mark. Depends really which times I go to work as I do shift work.

And yeah it works out to be about $70 a week as well..

The tank for Ballina cost me $88
I rarely let the light come on unless I've just been flat out and haven't had time to fill up, usually fill up at the 1/4 mark anyway..

It all depends on how you drive, in Sport # you don't have to boot it as much either, I only went over 4000-4500rpm a handful of times as there wasn't any need to be going flat out in any gear. :P

Fuel consumption???

07 gtb full tank of bp 98 averages $95 for between 625-675kms all on highway around 450kms when around town

EDIT: that is with 200kms a day to work (180hwy and 20 for suburbs/industrial)... with my new mentality that i must not speed, so sitting on 100km/h for most of the way.

I was a bit anxious about the fuel economy before buying Liberty STi as the combined says 10.9L/100Km
But I found economy is better than 02 Rexy STi 2.0L I owned previously. I only use BP Ultimate 98 ($1.60/L in ACT) and I put $50 a weekly which I can get up to 350km (S,S#) if I drive really crazy then near to 300km. On freeway, I can get up to 800Km on Canberra to Sydney and return (I would say it depends upon the road we drive Canberra-Syd-Canberra is mostly hills and slopes can see car is thirsty sometimes). Last time I visited SYD the avg fuel consumption was sitting @ 7.4/100km (Canberra-Moss Vale-Kiama-Windang-Wollongong-Lilyvale-Sutherland-SYD) and that avg gone up 9.6l/100 in SYD streets. Terrible!!!!
In Canberra local driving my avg stays between 8.8L/100km - 10.0l/100km, I was told by a local tuner that he can tune to make car more fuel efficient on "Intelligent" mode.

Ours runs approx 380km per tank & shows 13L/100km on average, using 98 Octane.

I have to say the Liberty is the best handling car I have driven. But the low down lag & poor fuel economy gives me the sh$ts.

Right now I am looking at possibly selling, as I am not sure I want to spend more $$$ on getting the Liberty properly tuned, hoping that it improves.

I spoke to the guys at Pulse Racing (Menai) & for $1,200 they can increase power 30-40kw & possibly improve fuel economy by 1-2L/100km.

Does anyone have any feedback/results they can share from doing similar?

I have a very mildly modded MY07 GTB and my fuel economy since my tune has been 9.8l / 100kms. This has been over the last 3500kms. Prior to the tune I was on 9.6l/100kms. I've been doing a lot more city driving in traffic and enjoy the power so aren't that conscious about getting best economy. I would say the tune has certainly made the car less laggy and the extra power is fun. My advice would be to get the car tuned and you'll most likely see your consumption come down and made a good car even better. Maybe consider Michael South Racing (MSR) for your tune. Probably a bit cheaper and by all accounts doing very good work for the NSW members on this forum.

Since owning my GTB i've travelled just over 10,000kms. I reset the trip2 on the first day and is now showing 9.0ltr as the average, whilst the previous owner said he averaged between 11-12ltr.
Out of that 10,000 there were maybe 7 return trips to the island and 3 to the peninsuala. The rest is fwy in the am and stop start fwy in the pm. I'm fairly impressed as i wasn't expecting such good economy and i am by no means a feather foot.

Just back from Sydney (to Melbourne) '
Shell 98 S# cruising at 110 Kph (on the GPS)
briefly up to 120/130 for passing, no slip streaming...
fuel consumption was at 8L/100Km without resetting before leaving Sydney.
I'm stoked with that result! :D

I average 14L/100km in my MY08 STi, though I only fill up once every fortnight. Get about 350km per tank....S# all the way.

I get a pretty standard 13.6L/100km on mostly inner city driving in my Auto GT.
Started with a Gen2 Outback, then got a MY07 GT Spec.B Manual w Cat Back Exhaust and Verso Tuned, now got 2 kids and a MY07 GT Auto Wagon, Ultrex stealth back exhaust, panel filter, Whiteline Sways all round, Spec.b struts and springs and Kido-Tuned.

Intriguing... as you have the Phat dump, and maybe also the previous owner's special sauce self-tune... :!: :?:

Filled up last night after a trip down to Phillip Island on the weekend and city driving this week. Low fuel light came on the way back from picking up some tyres.

Filled 53.65 litres

Distance travelled 611kms

Works out to about 8.78l per 100kms.

Trip computer read 8.4l per 100kms so pretty accurate.

This is with a tuned car with a few mods.

Pretty happy with the result.
