You tell us and we'll all know. This is my first Subi, I never thought they would be as fast as they are standard! No wonder p-platers aren't allowed to drive them...

On that note, I am never drinking again (until next weekend :alcoholic: )

Every dic in a WRK sees the STi badge on the rear of mine and has the sudden urge to try prove they can overtake me. Lucky Ive grown up a bit, when the lib was 3 days old a blue imprezza hatch pulled up beside me, gave couple of revs at lights, i just let him go. Saw it again about half hour later heading back other way and had red and blue flashing lights stealth mounted in the blacked out windows pulled over a white vs ute with mirrored tints.

You should own a WRX! Absolute idiot magnet.

I barely have any goons try to run me in the Libby GT-B. Maybe it's just Melbourne that doesn't really know about the GTB yet. *shrug*

One quote I loved from drive.com.au:

Backwards-cap wearers covet the Subaru WRX. The Liberty GT appeals to those who are old enough - and smart enough - to turn the peak around the right way

Okay so checked out my 08 tuned by STi Lib today and didnt find another STi build number in the spare wheel well so that rules that one out too. Was only a secondary manufacture compliance plate . Ive only ever been aware of the number on the engine cover. And Subaru have them logged in their systems against your vin.

If you got honeycombe gril, sti front lip, sti enkeis rims brembos, bilstein shocks with pink springs, quad tips, sti in your speedo gauge, sti stitched into the leather with alcantra insert seats... its definately an STi, just missing your badge on the engine cover. I dont know any car yard that would go to that extent to pull the wool over someones eyes as buying all the parts extra which make em a tuned by STi is way more expensive than forking over the extra $$$ from a Spec B GT. Unfortunately you dont have your number on the car, but you should fel safe it is the genuine article.

Another simple idea is just go to 2 different Subaru Dealers, get them to search your VIN on their system and they should both be able to tell you the STi build number. Then get a printout of the record and stick it with your log books. I think my Log Book has the number written in it too. Ill check it soon and let u know.

Edit the log books and service records ive got both state Tuned by STi but not build number.

Thanks ThirstyAs

Everyone - Update from Subaru (pathetic) below:

Dear XXX, (edited my name out lol)

Thank you for your email to Feedback at Subaru.

Regarding your enquiry relating to badges on MY08 Tuned By STI Liberty, According to our records the MY08 Tuned By STI Liberty's were fitted with an individually numbered badge on the engine cover. These badges are unfortunately unable to be re-ordered or replaced due to the individual build number displayed being specific to your vehicle.

Once again, thank you for writing to Subaru Australia.

Kind Regards,
Subaru (Aust)Pty Limited

Hi All

Happy to say I got an official letter from Subaru Australia (Mark from Customer Service VERY helpful).

It states that I am 208/250!

Guess in the back of my mind I was hoping to get back news that I was jipped and that it is not an STi Limited Edition. Then go through the rigmarole of fighting and complaining to Japan then being offered with an S402 Limited Edition!!

But I dont like the new design...

Anyhoo!! Happy to know which number I am!!

I'll send an email to my mate who works for Subaru. See if he knows how to track one down.
