Do you know what boost and AFR's he was running or even better have a plot of same ?

I forgot to ask about AFR, but he gave me the chart with the boost. boost before and after were within 0.5 psi of each other. i.e. before 14.5psi, after 15psi.

but the boost held flatter for longer.

Were you at Pulse racing on monday too? I didn't see a blue rex there.

Hey Tan, Paul should have given you 3 sheets, AFR, Boost, and Torque, just ask him for it, I'm sure it's no biggie.

As for the difference in KW's perhaps it's because I'm running higher then 15psi.......

No not me I'm at another workshop thesedays but my car has been there to sort out another prob but that was quite a while back. His workshop is also next to my mates Autoparts shop :)
I reckon that power figure is about right for those mods and its done in the proper shootout mode with proper inlet temp figures, if anything the initial baseline is low expecially for a dyno dynamics brand but of course it all depends on what the ECU was doing at the time. It may have been holding things low in its failsafe tune for some reason. We are seeing 125 atw stock rising to over 140 now maybe even up to 150 with a totally stock car just remapped but on a lower reading dyno. The stock exhaust is a piece of crap of course I assume you've changed that. And that dump pipe I take it that it has no cat in the vertical section ?

Pretty sure the Phat DP includes a Cat.

On the torque figures (or assumptions of):- If you have a look at the scale on the graph you will see it is in Newtons, not Newton metres. Newtons is a force measurement. Newton Metres is a torque measurement. The figure of 4800N refers to the force the tyres are exerting on the outside edge of the dyno rollers. 480Nm is an incorrect reading of the graph - carbon based lifeform error. In fact at around 5700 rpm (my guess at the engine speed of the peak power) the peak power of 164kw comes back to 275Nm (in engine torque terms which is really just a waste of time in the end). You can then factor in the drivetrain loss percentage (30%, 40%, whatever tickles your fancy) to both of those figures to get a calculated engine output.

Force multiplied by speed equals power. This is a large part of the reason why Pulse would be supplying you power and torque curves on speed vs tractive force axes. They are giving you raw outputs from the dyno, not calculated figures based on drivetrain loss fudge factors

Why would you assume that?

It certainly does have a cat in it, it's just not as restrictive as the OEM cat.

Not to mention the flames that would damage the rest of your exhaust system.

I'm still running the stock exhausts - can't spend ALL my money in one go. But I'll replace them about this time next year.

I didn't get the AFR readings, and it's not worth my effort to drive back to Menai for a piece of paper.

After all that's been said about how to read the dyno chart, one thing is certain, the car is measurably faster and I can't wait for this Sunday so I can go cruising.

A couple of screen shots of the throttle maps from my Lib, using RomRaider. These are in 3D & note the little tweak on the Sports mode I mentioned I could feel in the pedal after the tune. These are the same graphs (different variables) that parso_rex posted earlier, just in 3D view. The X axis is Accelerator Pedal angle - Y axis is Engine Speed - Z axis is the Requested Torque figure. Its the Z axis that you see as variables in the tables parso_rex posted & these can be changed to suite.

BTW: Does anyone have the .hex file (from ECU Flash) for a standard (non tuned) Lib GT.B MY07? Feel free to PM me or post it here if you do.

Interesting your S looks more sensitive than S# in some points.

I'd be interested in downloading my stock maps if I ever get off my backside and go and visit the Bris member with the Taxtrix cable. The STi tune was always touted as having changed throttle maps to improve pedal feel and I must say I prefer the S mapping on my car to any other I have driven (stock or tuned)

Its definitely different to the stock ones looks very linear or rather constant across the rev range for a given load point

It sure does, I was hoping to get hold of the stock tune (.hex) file to compare.

Would be exceptional if you could. It's the "differences" that are crucial to any analysis.

These are the throttle maps for a factory tuned MY08 GTspecB - shown in 3D view. Just ignore the fact that the window name says Sport for each of them. If you keep the 3D view open and just load the other maps it keeps your zoom / viewing angle the same across all maps - just the title bar does not reflect the map name.

If the tb STi maps are similar to those (I imagine they'd be fairly close?) then it'd explain some of the characteristics I've noticed. The stepped feel of the throttle which matches the very defined steps in the maps, the tapering off at the top end particularly at say 80% throttle in S mode, etc.

Thanks for posting these guys, anything that helps us all to understand the innards of how and why our cars behave the way they do is a good thing IMO :)

Edit: forgot to ask, the scale for throttle% isn't linear, so if plotted against a linear scale I imagine it'd show a much steeper rise at the start of the graphs. Is the response in the tuned S# map overly touchy? I mean, is it too much, or too difficult to make small throttle adjustments at smaller throttle openings? Or is it ok?
