If you have to drive in traffic all the time I can see the appeal anyway, so don't worry.
Still a great car!

you may not know this but in the US they are running a 675hp (engine) through the 5EAT auto.....
They are doing valve body mods to increase clutch clamping pressure (I have read all 83 pages of both threads concerning the VB mod).
It also reduces the shift time drastically.
One member has been tracking his after the mod as it's been fine.

I'm contemplating getting it done next financial year.
Best option for Aussies is to get a brand new one modded and shipped to them for between $1300 to $1500 tops.
Well that's the plan, I'm checking my transmission number with the modder 'Climberd' for compatibility.

No sorry, Tradewind has come across this one but I dont know if the vids have been watched.

TCU crack is the Holy Grail for all Auto drivers.
Nobody has been able to do it yet though ......

Someone needs to become buddies with one of the Subaru guys that designed it, then get him drunk and find out.

Intercooler: FMIC & TMIC

Postby brainy » Sun Feb 05, 2012 10:01 am

Rome_STI wrote:Firstly keiran, it was phat who told me to do FMIC, and I never once said that was the only thing I was doing. If you have a look at my profile page, upgrading to FMIC and upgrading the turbo, as well as going full turbo back and getting a tune have always been my goal, I can actually do it this year sooner than later as I have more money and time to leave my car with phat.

Secondly the comments about doing this just cos an aurion beat me have meant to be taken as tongue in cheek, as in it's the thing to finally get off my ass and do the mods I've been planning.

Also brainy have you ever gone against an aurion or driven one yourself? They are 200 kw so aren't slow, and i thought it was a Camry at first so didn't take off quickly like he did, I only put my foot down once I realised he was giving it a go and was only upset cos I couldn't close the gap as quick as I thought I could

Hey Rome,

Actually, yes I've driven one and they are not bad. Having said that, my maxima even so had less kw, was still quicker and well the lib is even quicker...

But Rome, don't read too much into my post, it was just my attempt at some humour while having a dig at a Prius :)

What have i done lol? I don't see why we are knocking Toyota when (although the worst divers in the world own them) they have just helped Subaru produce the new SUBOTA / TOYBARU or whatever you want to call it Toyota built EJ25 in the FT-86! Toyota reliability in a Subaru? What more could you ask for! Anyway... There is nothing wrong with automatic transmission guys... Especially when it comes to traffic light launches... Here's one i prepared earlier!

Made up my mind... Purchased Jim's FMIC set up and am more than happy with it as i do not have to cut too much out of the car... It is PHAT's pipework but with a smaller core... It's not like i will be running 500hp anyway... Size is 530mm left to right X 330mm top to bottom X 65mm depth...

By the way, did you get your one yet Rome?
