MY08 GT-B TB STi - Concerned Questions

Hmm, interesting.

Dealer has confirmed after speaking with Subaru Australia that the MY08 Subaru Liberty's did NOT come with the limited edition badges.

Anyone have a MY08 TB STi who can confirm this?

Apparently I need to call Subaru Australia with the VIN to attain what number it is that I have...

They're full of shit.

Note the number is out of 250, rather than 300 (08 tb STi run was smaller than 07)

Not on the centre console mate, the missus has the car with her today so I can't take a photo for you but I'm 99% sure that the only badge/sticker on the centre console is the SI Drive one.

They're either lying or, at best, the dealer and Subaru Australia (if they really were contacted at all) don't know their own product.

I'd go for either of those options. Some of my conversations with Subaru direct RE their products has been enough for me to cry. Some of there staff are outright USELESS and are quite happy to show odd their ignorance.

IE - Subaru initially quoted to me that the MY08 Sti strut brace was titanium and solid Well it's flexible and aluminium.

I have sent an email of that photo to the Dealer with questions, will call him when I get a free moment.

He even said that he had checked a 08 Liberty STi he had on site (but sold yesterday) and it wasnt on there.

Either he is lying or someone at that dealership is nicking the badges!

When I looked at trading up to an 08STI earlier in the year, it was different because of the following:

Black Brembo Brakes
STI Enki 18" wheels
Yellow Bilstein shocks but with Pink STI springs
Gloss metailc trim panels on the door
Red stitching on the seats
Number XXX of XXX on the engine cover
Quad pipes with STI on the top of the pipes
STI on the speedo (I think - it was a while ago now)
A larger price tag!

I am not concerned I dont have the model. I am concerned the badge is missing which eludes to possibly engine hood being replaced together with the fact there was white residue (jizz lol) under bonnet leads me to believe something had happened..

Will call the guy at dealer now and re-question.

You could also check the secondary compliance plate in your boot (spare wheel compartment), it’s a sticker placed by the factory which proves all your extra parts were fitted by sti Australia, that plate also has a serial number attached to it.

(then after that expect the questions to flow: best/trusted place in NSW for a service (Subaru Rosebery charge $199 for an oil change!), wtf do I hear the occassional grind when stopping, wtf is that thrum and hissing from brakes/wheels I hear when rolling as if there is some form of friction, should I invest in DBA slotted and which exact type, what product should I use on the leather trim interior, why does that idiot in a standard lancer with a fake evo bodykit always try and race me....
