Clutches??

You can DIY in a day(assuming you have all the tools, and a mate or 2 to help lift the box in.
If DIY: a week before start using WD40 on every single bolt that will be undone to make the job easier, do it every day.

If a workshop i would imagine:
Remove Exhaust 30mins
remove box and diff 60 mins
remove, replace clutch and flywheel 20mins
Install box and diff 90mins
Add fluids 20 Mins
Test everything 60 Mins

This is for a shop that knows what they are doing, having a hoist and gearbox jack is bloody awesome, and you can always factor in no shop is going to get right to work and do the job as fast as possible to save you money.

I did a 6speed install into my mates 04GT gen4 last weekend, not the hardest job on earth, hardest thing is lifting the box from under the car, the bloody thing weighs more then i do.

It's usually fairly easy as long as all goes smoothly (correct parts ordered, nothing broken, you remember to d/c the speed sensor connector) and you have the right tools available... Havings said that, it's still an absolute prick of a job and one that i never want to do again, especially on the floor
A 5 speed box is heavy as 24 sluts, apparently a 6 speed is like 61 sluts...

Does the intercooler need to be removed for topside access in the 6speeds?

I forgot about TMIC, yeh you gotta undo that, so add 3 minutes

I have done about 10 or so 6 speeds, and countless 5 speed installs, everyone in a driveway, which i hate doing, im getting too old for it i think

It's also Jim Berry clutch time for me . My car has 150,000km on it and so does the clutch I'd say.

I called Jim Berry, definitely chatty like everyone said lol.

But he again wasn't sure what clutch the PostFL GT had it in, just like another poster on here mentioned. He suggested I get my clutch removed, and tell him what I have. But I'd rather not have my car out of action for a week or more.

Can anyone tell with any certainty if my 08MY09 GT SpecB has:
1) Push Type or Pull Type?
2) 230mm with 2mm step down? (usually the Push Type)
OR 240mm with 14.6mm step down? (usually Pull Type)
3) Stepped Flywheel? (I guess that applies to the previous Q)

Anyone who wants their Jim Berry clutch, he said get it soon since he's retiring! He's already moving atm, but will do Mitsubishis and Subarus in small volumes.
