Im off on my honeymoon Shav. Going to a friends wedding in Cancun Mexico first, then to the US for 4 weeks. We're driving down the californian coast from San Francisco to LA in a mustang convertible at one point which im really looking forward to. They say its one of the top 10 drives you can do in the world.

If your like me and wash the car prior to leaving it, you want to be able to get home and make sure there is no dust on it when you get back, so you dont have to wash it again. Hence the suggestion of a car cover. But again, that's just me.

Its technically a "no-no" but ive got a microfibre dusting mit that i use for thhat purpose.. as long as my car hasnt got any dirt on it and its just dust, its pretty harmless to the paint.

Rubbing 6 weeks of particles all over your paint, sounds pretty harmless

Don't risk it it will damage paint and you will see in sunlight !

Wash correctly when you return don't rub a microfiber cloth over it before you wash it !

Hahaha.. i wouldnt dust my car after it sat there for 6 weeks, i was just saying that i have a mit for dusting a car.

I only ever use that mit if the car hasnt left the garage since its been cleaned and waxed... my garage doesnt have sand storms blowing through it, its just dust

The wax puts a protective layer on the car, lightly wiping dust off with a microfibre mit doesnt harm it... thats the way everyone prepares their show cars once its been delivered to the show and their paint jobs cost a LOT more than mine.

Hey congrats on getting married first off. Sounds like an incredible trip away mate. The Mustang cruise through the US has been on my wish list for a while now also. Be sure to post up pics and stuff when you get back of the trip.

Ive done a fair bit of research into it, and theres a few main things that everyone sees or stops at.

1. Big Sur
2. Carmel
3. Montery
4. Pebble Beach (if youre into that sort of thing)
5. Laguna Seca (the wife doesnt know im swinging past there yet, but how could i not??)
6. Santa Barbara
7. Santa Cruz

Theres a few other towns along the way that would be interesting to see but depending on how long youre taking to do the drive you may want to skip a few.

I did the drive to San Fran from LA in a mustang several years ago.
Awesome roads and scenery but the mustang was the biggest bucket of shit I ever drove (it was new).
You'll wish you were driving your Lib when you were over there.

Hahaha yeah ive heard theyre crap cars.. theyre the commodores of the states. But we wanted a convertible and its either the Mustang or a Chrysler Sebring.... hard to imagine but its even worse than the mustang haha

I just Googled "convertible car rental san Francisco" and it came up with some interesting results.

New Porsche Boxter S or Corvette convertible for $200 per day.

That would make an amazing driving holiday if you can afford it.
