Just had a chat to the mechanic about fitting one of these things and he recommends that you remove the intake as the blow off connection hits the fuel rail/tgv's if you try to go in thought the front.

So he said to unbolt the fuel rails and move them out of the way and then just unbolt the manifold and drop the intake in so there is no fuss and it stops me from getting half way through without removing the manifold and then having to remove it because I can't get it in properly or I'm in risk of breaking something ( highly likely )

May take a tad longer but will go more smoothly.

Just thinking if the manifolds off then maybe I should get some tgv deletes and drop them in as well or am I asking for more head aches??? :assassin:

Turbo inlet

Your mechanic forgot to mention a crucial and important step which would be the easiest and simplest approach....remove your TMIC...

I watched MSR change my inlet pipe in about 15 minutes.
He made it look really easy which it isn't if you don't know what you're doing.

I put the perrin one on my car.
If you know what your doing its a quick job.
If its the first time you have done something like this, then make sure you dont need to be anywhere, undo everything, lift the manifold off, and drop it in there.

I like the perrin one to be honest, quite rigid, well made, and fits easy.

Keep the standard diameter inlet, its more then adequate for big power, the idea is smoother air flow, and when it reaches the thinner part of the pipe the air velocity increases as it gets towards the compressor.(basic science)

There all much of the same, but some are built better then others.

Thanks man.

First time putting one of these things on. Not inept at mechanical stuff just don't have the experience and or tools . So i just go down to my mechanic and use his tools and guidance . If i get stuck he will help me!!

I bought the Perrin one and should have it by the end of next week. I will then install it with my fmic.

Did you notice any change in power and or noise??

I Didnt notice any power or noise changes.
My intake is already loud as i have a pod on an aluminium intake, so it already makes the induction noise.

Its not really a power mod, what you are doing is allowing free-er flowing air into the compressor, it allows headroom, and the compressor doesnt have to work as hard "sucking" in air.

Plus you piss off the stock one which is prone to breakages etc over time.

I didn't get any power or noise increases.

You need to get one installed once you go north of 200kw as the stock ones can collapse on full boost.
