Also I seriously looked at an E39 M5 before picking up my Liberty in 2010. Loved the exterior & thought it drove well but fuel consumption was high & the old style interior of the 2003 really put me off.

The E60 M5 was tried but again no manual & fuel consumption was REALLY high. Still liked the E60 shape as often when in Europe I hire the E60 530D. Great for long distance high speed driving.

Haven't tried the BMW 335i or the 1M, had the BMW dealer calling but saying I could only order one as there are demo's to try.

The new F10 M5 will be here soon but that will cost more than the XJ so not going in that direction.

Guess I should just focus on selling the Liberty first then maybe once the cash is in hand; things will be clearer.

I was looking at a golf GTI but very hard to get your hands on one ATM. so i drove a Skoda octavia RS in hatch and wagon and was very impressed. the dealership owner then let me have a drive of heis personel wagon with TBE, tune, intake, coilovers and other suspension tweeks. and it was insane for a cheap wagon

If you haven't noticed, Clive is more interested in something around the 80k mark at least. :lol:

Its europeon and once you tick the options box and mod it up around th 70k. A good cars a good car dosnt matter what the oprice is.was just a option.

Golf R getting up around that mark with some options.

So when selling a car how do I avoid the tyre kickers? I was told recently that auto's seem to sell better in Australia over manuals.

- Never reply to people just sending through emails, If they want the car they will give you a call.
- Ignore txt messages asking ridiculous prices
- Tell people upfront the condition and that you arn't that negotiable on the price.

I thought it was the opposite manuals sell way quicker then auto's (Prefacelift GT's definitely do)

Seems like the market value for private sale on drive valuations doesn't seem to reflect the prices being asked by owners on either carsales or drive though there are no 2009 GT Spec B R's anyway.

Depends on the car, some manuals are pretty rare to find (M5 for example). I wouldn't say the Liberty is rare to find in manual, but it's more desirable to most people in the 2nd hand market so they tend to get snapped up quicker.

Haven't tried the ISF, guess it hasn't drawn me in.

Have tried a few french cars but got put off by the resale & the fear of tacky interiors.

The VW R is only FWD yes? I guess I have seen so many OS for the past few years that it doesn't seem new to me.

I like the idea of trying a BRZ but that will be a wait.

I've owned a B4 & have had this one since 2010, I just can't get my head around the Gen5 look, or is this just me?
