Maybe the peak reading on my gauge is from a boost spike

Reset it and go for a drive to see? I kicked an engine light three times since doing all my mods, all three times it's been the one to do with the exhaust, not sure which code it is off the top of my head. It's nothing major and should be able to be rectified through a tune!

Could be any number of things mate. You can check what error it is yourself WITHOUT buying a scanner :D

Open the fuse cover to the bottom left of the steering wheel.
Reach to the top left inside the cover. You will find 2 wires with corresponiding connectors, one black and one light green.
Connect these 2 wires together.
Turn the car to ignition (but do not start it) while holding down the odometer reset button.
Odometer/trip meter screen will now show the last CEL error recorded.
Disconect the 2 wires before driving the car again.

Issues solved.

Problem was the meat head using the spanners

During installation I bumped off the vacuum line that goes between bov and throttle body

This caused my engine to run really rough and throw an engine light because it was getting more air than the afm was sensing also I was loosing alot of boost haha.

My ridiculous amount of turbo flutter was a result of it not opening because there was no vacuum. Now I can adjust the amount of flutter.

Never mind. A bit of flammable aerosol sprayed around gave an idea of the general area.

Right under the god damn intercooler :(

All fixed now. 16 psi boost. I don't know how but that's what mr defi is telling me

Picked up my car from Subaru today. Turns out it was the after market exhaust that caused the engine light - all is sweet otherwise (apparently).

:D My car is ok!!

Thanks for all your thoughts/input.

That's good news mate.

Sorry for kinda stealing your thread.

Ahwell both issues solved. Think if I keep up this modding I may have to invest in an ecu scanner

Did they give a reason why your exhaust made it chuck a code?

No worries! It is a forum after all - freedom of speech (keyboard).

They told me that the previous owner was 'probably' getting this problem from time to time, so if it happens again, I might take it to MRT and get it checked out there. I think MRT have a lifetime warranty and all the performance mods were done there.

How much does an ECU scanner go for?

hmm, don't think it's worth it for me then. I don't 'plan' to be getting alot of these engine lights
I'd prefer to spend that $200 on fuel. haha.
