They get peak torque at 2200 rpm (750nm) and it carries all the way to 7000rpm.
awesome!

D40 Navara has Variable Vane as well which with a mild tune and exhaust can have full boost at 1500rpm and hold boost to 5800rpm :) 160Kw from a diesel

You do pay a bit for a 911 turbo though. :)

In anyone's experience do you think a vf52 on a gtb tuned etc will put alot of strain on stock internals ?

Reliability be an issue. ?

The VF52 is the stock turbo off a 2009+ WRX, which as essentially the same motor in it as a 2.5L turbo GTB.

I've heard of issues with the auto gearbox once you go too far north of 200kW ATW, but you'd be pushing a VF52 pretty hard to get that much power without going to E85 anyway. I'd suggest that all things considered, a VF52 is a pretty safe turbo upgrade for the GTB.

A VF52 is able to provide more boost overall than a VF46, and hold it later into the rev range. Overall more torque and thus more power.

It would be very interesting to see the results of a tune of a mechanically stock car, and then an equivalent tune on a VF52 with no other differences.

Not anymore than a VF46.

Cars are doing head gaskets with both turbos.

Both these turbos reach about the same peak boost comfortably. The VF52 holds it a little longer.

From my experience I'm running 18.5 psi and made 204kws at MSR. Not massive power or stress but a good safe gain and very useable power on the street.

There are plenty of vf46 turbos tuned to 18.5psi but don't hit the 200kw mark.

Also remember the stock tune has boost set at about 13psi on the VF46 so 18.5 is a significant increase and demand on the VF46. Which turbo would you like to see tuned to higher psi? I'd prefer to see it being requested of a bigger turbo.
