Gen IV's - How much boost are you running?

Postby GTSPECB STI » Tue Nov 18, 2008 5:50 pm

Ok I am getting ready to have my car re-tuned after some additional mods and I am wanting to know what other re-tuned / modded Gen IV's are running in terms of boost on stock VF46 turbo?

PS. boost spiking doesn't count !

My stock 08 gtb shows a peak boost attained of 15.6psi = 1.06bar, so far. ECUDatascan unit fitted.

thanks to all who replied, I am going to have one map with factory boost setting and another with 1.2 bar. I will post both maps on Friday after the re-tune.

1.05bar is my stock setting, on a Defi guage

After seeing some results on the dyno with ECU flashes on others cars, and reading literature from tuners, Personally I would not push more than 1.15bar (around 16.7PSI). At 1.2 (17.5PSI) You would really push the efficiency of the stock turbo and heat and rpm would be up there. Also stock injectors may start to struggle

I'm sure your tuners are reputable so would watch the obvious indicators being injector duty cycle and AFR
