HELP flashing engine, s drive light, cruise

Postby crowds74 » Thu Sep 06, 2012 7:05 pm

Hi, today i was giving the car a bit of a good run down the mornington peninsula. This car is a manual. As I pulled out the front wheels tried to spin a little as i had it in s sharp mode. It then jolted and went in to s drive flashing and the engine light then came on. after about an hour the lights went out and back to normal. Has anyone had this problem and what is it?

Don't believe it would be a boost spike fuel cut.

The P0244 DTC does not clear by itself.

The temp DTC that Tom would've experienced is the ABS wheel speed sensor which is temporary and clears itself.

Occurs at times in snow etc when the wheels slip/spin at different rates and you're not moving forward fast enough at the time of the occurrence.

Bruce, the boost cut error does clear itself. That's what happened to my car continuously before I had it tuned properly remember?

Had this almost exact same issue not too long ago

ended being the bov hose from the throttle body (under the intercooler) came off... was wondering why there wasn't any bov noise

i had the same problem with mine when i put an aftermarket exhaust and i turned the car over i think about 7 or 8 times and then it returned to normal but the CEL (check engine light)
was something to do with the exhaust not a boost spike, but i soon got a tune after that and not only did the tune give extra power but also stopped the CEL from returning..

however this CEL was specific to my car it may be completely different in your case.. best option i think would find someone with a ECU reader like ECU datascan etc or get a tune
id be more inclined to get a tune for more power

goodluck
