Creaking noise and tapping

Hi Guys

Have an MY10 Liberty GT with about 4,000km on it. Around 1,000km i started to hear creaking every now and then on bumps on the road coming from what seems to be the rear window. I also get it quite badly when entering a driveway with a roll top gutter. Seems to be when there is body flex that it does it. Does anyone else get this or could it be a poorly fitted window?

Also when turning right at any speed i get a tapping or clicking noise which sounds like it is coming from the back drivers side wheel or thereabouts. It actually sounds similar to a rock being flicked up underneath the car hitting the wheel arch but happens too often to be that.

Anyway hoping someone may be able to help before I consult with the Subaru dealer who always tend to look at your strangely when you get them looking for noises and squeaks.
ike i'm sure a lot of you do i hate squeaks and rattles in new cars!

The creaking could be trim pieces on the tailgate rubbing, I haven't had it in a Liberty yet but I've had some Foresters and Imprezas with similar issues.

The knocking could be the seat latches, I've bent a few latches and found it shuts them up.

If you get the dealer to look at it under warranty request to drive the car with a technician first so you can replicate the noises exactly for them, there is nothing more annoying than driving a car for a noise, fixing a noise after hours of searching for it, then finding out its not the noise the customer was annoyed about. They wanted the tiny little barely noticeable squeak fixed, not the 20 rattles coming from one piece of trim!

I had a range of creaks and rattles with mine as well. The service manager at my local dealer worked with me to identified and sort them all out. He even brought it over while I was at work to go for a drive with him with the back seat out. This lead to haveing the handbrake cable replaced as it was twisted and causing creaking noise when travelling over bumps and turns. Required a new handbrake cable which was replaced and seems to be all good now.

Thanks for the reply Mark. Do you get any creaking when reversing out of a gutter on a driveway? That sounds to be like my issue might be more linked to body flex?

No, no noises like that, but then I live out of town on a rural property, so no gutters or paved drive way, but never heard those sort of noises. Oh and we have 2 MY10 Liberties the GT and a 2.5i sports. So same suspension and no body flexing noise in either of them.

my MY06 sedan made some light creaks when going up or down gutters at an angle. was just trim pieces and as it was only on the 45 degree gutters and I didn't often drive up them I didn't worry. A rear strut brace has basically completely removed all of this flex in mine though.

Yeah i think i need to jump in the back while the wife is driving and determine exactly where it is coming from. Similar noises are fairly consistent while driving on rougher roads.
