Does smoke come out if you switch to another brand? Does white smoke appear when you turn off the car, leave it for a few hours, and then start it up again? Have you recently done any upper engine cleaner?

Is it completely standard? They normally run really rich so if you haven't given it bootful in a while it would more than likely just be clearing it's throat and throwing masses of fuel thru. Get someone to drive behind you to have a better look at the amount and colour of the smoke under load.

blown seals result in constant smoke, if its just when the throttle is open, it sounds like blow by.....common on our engines, are catch can solves the problem.

could also be that its cold?

My car blows some white smoke (more steam from condensation i'd say) at idle and while driving when its cold outside.
