Dump Pipe for my06 tbSti Auto

Postby Ben » Tue Apr 20, 2010 12:02 pm

I'm looking for a dump pipe for my06 tbSti Auto. Seems Phat isn't replying to requests so now I'm looking at other options both locally and from .jp

Can anyone vouch for what's good, ie. hks etc? What price to pay? I know some of the .jp ones are fairly expensive, especially with shipping, what's available locally? Has anyone tried a few different types, if so what was best?

I've had a look around the usual sites and thinking I might just keep an eye on Monster and see if something pops up at the right price. Bloody hard to work out what's what on some of these sites :S

I have an AVO one... works well enough, cost about $1000. Stainless steel.

that pipe is missing 1 important thing WHERES THE FACTORY FLEX JOINT ??? if your using a factory cat back or aftermarket exhaust you will need to do some modding to add a flex joint somewhere or you will start to brake stuff and get to much vibration through the car

also i can see why you keep flogen out 02 sensors

You mean because the O2 sensor plugs in BEFORE the cat and near the hottest section of the pipe?

Yep the exhaust shop needed to modify the centre pipe to fit. I just remembered that... totally slipped my mind!

Michael, I've asked you about it several times via email with no answer. I'm more than happy to put my name down for one when the time comes, I'll email you again now.

I'm confused Michael - the dump pipe you supplied doesn't have a flex joint. Do I need to get one fitted to the centre pipe OR does my MY08 not have one?

all my dump pipes are supplied with 2 adaptors

one will match the factory flex (or swivel joint or what ever you want to call it)

the other is a straight 3" (so if your doing a custom 3" catback the exhaust guy cat fit a flex in so theres no need to remove the dump again)
