I have got a Garrett 2860RS (disco potato) on my 05 - from what I understand, it was pretty much a straight bolt on.

So is there anything out there that is a straight bolt on?
How would a vf36 fit? What would I need to replace?

cheers

Firstly, is yours a manual or auto? Thinking it's an auto since it's an 04...

If the VF36 is the manual turbo (Which I think it is) then I'm pretty sure it's a straight fit... But at the end of the day it's still a standard turbo, yes it will produce slightly more power then the standard auto turbo, but not a great deal.

There are after market kits out there from say HKS, which is what I currently have :D (Phat GT is the man to speak to), but they aren't cheap.

The installer obviously told me fibs..all I know is that it's on my car and does a pretty good job.

Def's one to consider if you wish to upgrade..

Your installer is not really telling you fibs, why would he when he could charge you more for custom fabrication?

The kit comes with an up pipe which makes it straight bolt on. It is just you are not just bolting on the turbo. The up pipe bolts to the extractors at one end and your new turb at the other. You lose the twin scroll function as it joins the two smaller pipes to a single pipe.

How does it go now? Are you auto or manual and was it worth the swap?

what Turbo kit is this???

and did they supply a new dump pipe? as that turbo wont fit a subaru dump

to fit this turbo you will need new oil and water lines to

did they suppy an adaptor to join the turbo to the top mount ??

I remember hearing James (Darkwatch) had a VF36 'kit' fitted to his car, the downpipe used was a VF36 collector mated to a stock downpipe.
