VF36 and VF38

Postby 04GTLIB » Mon Aug 24, 2009 8:24 pm

Guys.
Not meaning this to be a stupid question, I'm only a newby at the turbo game.
Both of the above turbo's are twin scroll designs, but, is a VF36 a straight swap for the VF38?
Not contemplating an upgrade or anything, I'm just trying to find out what options are available for the twin scroll guys.
Thanks in advance for your replies.

Cheers,
Rusty.

I think that the VF36 is not a bolt-on upgrade.

Compressor outlet is different, so won't bolt on. Although, MRT in their power up kit do have some fancy plumbing to connect single scroll VF series turbos to the TMIC so I dare say it is possible with some fabrication.

Why r u interested?

I'm looking at turbo upgrades for my '05 and I think I'm going to have to go single scroll. Probably AVO headers and AVO420 GT turbo. Probably need AVO collector pipe too.
'05 Lib GT with a few mods :-)
