On my my06 liberty gt Sti it has teh option on the trip computer for E/T which I know from previous libertys I have owned, shows the time since the engine was started.
The problem with this one is that most of the time it doesn't actually show that.! just has a couple of little lines instead. ----
Other times it works just fine! has anyone come across this before? what should I have a look at first to try and fix it? fuses?

funny problem but annoying i bet..

yer every time you turn the key you should have a e/t of travel time.
it stars at _ _ and then counts up obviously

i'm presuming you have re-set all your A & B speedo logs back to 0

im thinking perhaps there is another function the E/t can do and you may have that selected accidently..

yep have reset both a and b back to 0.
I don't think there is anything else that e/t function can do? there wasn't on my last lib which was an 04 premium, i've had a look at the manual for an 07 it only shows the 'journey time' function.

I've had the same problem in my MY06 GT mate.

Was really annoying & was happening a few times a week... But then it came good & I haven't had a problem for ages.

This is a "known " problem. Sometimes disconnecting the battrey, wait 30 minutes and reconnect works as it gets "out of phase".

Mine still blanks occasionally. I am aware of several units that have been changed, one 3 times. If your still under warranty make sure you mention it asap.

Thanks for the tip, i'll give it a go this evening and see how it goes...
If I disconnect the battery for 30mins, is that going to cause the stero to want a pin or something when i turn it back on?

No PIN on the Mcintosh headunit. But you will need to re-enter in your radio stations. Also your ECU will be reset, so let the car idle for ten minutes, then turn on the aircon and idle for another ten minutes. Then drive NORMALLY like how you would normally drive (hoon/grandma mode) so it will learn best according to your actual driving style.

Thanks for the info! I wouldn't have known to let it idle for 10 and then with the aircon on as well.

Nor did I. I'm going to have to re-do mine when I can be bothered. Apparently it affects the idle .

Just drive it

The car just needs to re-learn everything... So it may feel like it's going to stall etc, but it's not doing any damage.

Otherwise, what Tangcla has suggested isn't a bad idea, but just like a turbo timer ( ) on our cars, it's not really required.

When you first reset the ECU, you notice the idle isn't where it should - letting it idle will allow the car to hunt to find the optimal idle rpm. It works on a basis of avatege(i.e. 0, 100, 10, 80, 15, 70, etc until it gets to 50) and this may take a while.

It's up to you if you do it or not, for me I haven't yet, as I didn't have time last time I did it

Was just about to do this, suddenly had a thought about my alarm..

Will disconnecting teh battery for 30mins cause any problems for the alarm?
I can't give any details about the alarm, I have no idea of brand or anything. (was installed on the car when I bought it, and there is no paperwork for it.)
