Aftermarket front O2 (A/F) sensor - any experiences

Hi Guys,

Looks like I need to replace my front O2 (A/F) sensor (dreaded P0031 code).

I saw in another post on this site that this guy on ebay has generic 4 wire sensors (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140315496144&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:AU:1123)

I emailed him and he said it would suit my car (I still have my doubts though).

Has anyone had any experience with these sensors or any aftermarket sensors like this and if so how did it go?

His fitting instructions are this:
FOUR WIRE UNIVERSAL SENSOR –

Cut the four wires to the original sensor leaving enough length to enable a join to be made. The replacement sensor has four wires. The two white wires are the sensor heater wires. Polarity does not matter. The grey wire is the sensor earth. Black wire is the Ecu signal wire. The four wires must be crimp joined to the original vehicle wires, and the shrink tube seal then heated to cover the join with a soldering iron or hair dryer. If unsure as to correct colour coding of the vehicle wiring, please consult the vehicle service manual. Some antisieze should be used on the sensor thread to ease any future removal.

Cheers,
