clunk when selecting reverse

Postby jdm rsk » Mon Jan 19, 2009 2:26 pm

i have notice sometimes when selecting reverse i get a clunk(especially first start when cold but i think this is because the idle is high). seems to be coming from under the car but i asume it could be the diff or one of the drivetrain mounts...any ideas would be appreciated....shane

You mean going from park to reverse mate?

Mine does that from time to time when it's still cold. Pretty sure it's been that way ever since the car was new as well.

Does it make the clunk when you: apply the brakes, move the shifter from P to R, or while it's in motion?

I find it seems to happen a little more if the car is on a hill or something.

Wouldn't worry too much about it mate... Show me on Friday when we catch up & I'll let you know if it's any different to mine :)
