06 tbsti lacking power (boost problem)

Postby EddieSTI34 » Fri Jan 10, 2020 3:49 pm

Gday everyone,
New to the forum, have recently picked up an 06 gt tbsti wagon.

The car idles and starts perfect however is lacking power. Once she’s hot It seems to boost nicely until around 4500rpm however doesn’t really pull past 5000rmp. It’s also got a bit of hesitation boosting everynow and then.

Thinking it could just be a boost leak however I tried unplugging the pre cat o2 sensor and it with a progressive acceleration it seems to pull better at high revs with it unplugged.

I’ve also tried swapping the MAF with my other liberty but had no effect along with having a look at the sparks but they look fine.

Has anyone had similar problems/ have any other ideas what might be going on.

Cheers

Find a local enthusiast with a tactrix or btssm, Log and LV the car.
Or do an inlet pressure test with smoke or bubbles.

I can do these tests in Melbourne.
