2005 2.0L GT Turbo question

Blowing smoke like a steam train when accelerating from stopped. No power, smoke stops when you eventually get up to speed.
Me thinks the turbo has died.
Should I replace it with a Subaru turbo from a wrecker or an after market upgrade?
Any advice?
