EJ20X Idle Control

Postby LegacyRS » Thu Aug 31, 2017 7:24 pm

Hey guys,

I am wondering if there is an idle control valve on an EJ20X like on the older model EJs (like my EJ20R). If not, is there a way to raise the idle slightly to avoid a vibration at low revs.

The EJ20X in question does have an electronic throttle body and 5-speed auto if that helps at all.

Thanks in advance

Na no idle valve. Just hilds the throttle plate open a certain amount. Need to get it altered in the ROM. Easy to do if you find someone nearby with a Tactrix cable.

Thanks guys,

I am going to try a throttle relearn first.

I am also going to look into getting a VAGCOM and downloading a FreeSSM just so I can see what is happening.

Any suggestions on VAGCOM or FreeSSM to use?

I bought the cheapest VAGCOM cable off ebay and it worked fine. Can't be used for flashing with ECUFlash but does work fine with FreeSSM. My laptop has windows 7 64bit and installed the drivers itself.

I downloaded FreeSSM itself here https://sourceforge.net/projects/freessm.berlios/
