How many o2 sensors are there

I have a 2005 2.0T GT sedan with an O2 sensor throwing a P0030.

Subie is so darn expensive I thought I'd try an after market.

The problem is many of the aftermarket guys are showing two different connectors.
Some show a 4 pin male connector on the sensor cable others show a female.

I contacted many of the suppliers and provided my VIN number.
4 of them came back with the same answer.
"Your model has two different sensors, you need to remove it and check before placing an order"

Does anyone know what's really going on?
Is there some way of telling what to order that doesn't involve pulling the old one out?
I was hoping to pull the puppy out once.

Your car is same model as mine. There was a revised version of the sensor as the original seemed to fail prematurely. I got mine for a good price from rhdjapan

SKU is 64493

SUBARU OEM Air Fuel Sensor 22641 EJ20 Turbo 2003~2006

Currently price is $99AUD plus shipping. At that price buy 2 :-)

Thanks,

I thought that was the one, thanks for confirming.
I found one on ebay for $99 in Australia which means I should have it next week.

BTW: The cable is pretty short so I'm guessing the plug is not in the engine bay area accessible from the top.
Where about is the plug?

OK got the sensor.
Took the front wheel off and it was nowhere to be found.

Found the sucker behind the turbo in the engine bay.
Simple job to replace it.
Reset the P0030 and took it for a drive.

After a few minutes the engine like came back on and now showing a P0132.
Similar error but not exactly the same.

Could this be because I did not reset the ECU?
I hear the easiest way to reset the ECU is to disconnect the battery for a few hours.
Is this right?
Should this be my next step?

Also saw there is a fuse and relay in the circuit I should check.
Where about are they located? My manual says under the glove box. But then it said the sensor was behind the wheel. Can't really trust it.

You can try an ecu reset by disconnecting the battery - 5 mins will do it.

However, I suspect it is the sensor. Which one did you buy exactly? Those ebay ones hmmm. Get the one from the link I posted.

took it for a spin, wife driving and after the engine warmed up the check light P0132 come on. I reset it and it stayed off for another 5 mins. Seemed that it would stay off a little longer each time i reset it. Not sure if this is just the ecu re-learning.

the engine definitely growls less and seems to pick up better.

any idea how long this learning process takes?

Oh yeah, and after driving 30 km the distant to empty increased around 40 km.
Which is what makes me think this could be an ecu learning thing.

I don't think that code would be due to a learning process.

I think you should check the wiring or you have a faulty sensor. So did you get a genuine sensor in the end ?

Usually ebay sellers are quick to advertise the fact the a product is genuine if they are.

As this seller does not mention it, they probably are not genuine.

Check if it's branded or not, I think genuine ones might say 'denso' or something.

That one doesn't look genuine. If you compare the look of the head of it vs the genuine more expensive listings, it looks quite different.
Usually if its legit, it'll get shipped to you in a Fuji Industries with Part No on outside or Denso box. Also the genuine listings usually show the box with the part no.
