It could be a a lot of things unfortunately, Check your turbo inlet hose for signs of deterioration at the turbo inducer.

Data logging will give you a better insight rather than just throwing parts at it - ie. check output of AFM, Front O2, Manifold pressure, Knock index (IAM/FLKC etc)

I'm also in Melbourne if you need a hand.

Thanks Spool, I have noticed this is a common issue at that type of kms. I'll take it apart and check condition.
I have had to replace my wheel bearings in the meantime and they ain't cheap for quality ones but the ride is so much quieter. Thanks for all the input. Appreciate it. Will keep you guys posted once i get to the bottom of it.

I took off the IC to check out the turbo inlet pipe. I have attached some pics, I couldn't get a good angle but does that look in bad shape? Would I need to take off the manifold if I want to remove it?? Thanks

Oil in the inlet from blow by pools at the bottom of the pipe which leads to deterioration of the rubber...
You may see it with an inspection mirror and led, heaps easier than removing the inlet pipe. Or do a smoke/bubble test of the post maf sensor pipe at less than 1psi...

Quick update - logging revealed code P0365 camshaft position sensor bank 1. However temps are both at 0. Could this be the issue?? Thanks for input. I'll try pulling it and cleaning the plug with contact cleaner to eliminate contamination.

In that case log inlet and exhaust avcs vvt angles. You want to check if they're active and or in sync between left and right heads...

Thanks mate. Unfortunately this was logged by Tony at URD (awesome honest guy imo) and he was shocking busy but still managed to squeeze me in for a quick check. He said he would need more time to check a couple of other things before giving his final say so would need to go back in. I'm hopeless with logging but sounds like replacing the sensor is a bad idea until more checking is done??

You'd have to do some research around that but Libs can have major avcs issues that affect drivability and economy w/o throwing cels. Easy fix tho...

I'll def do some more reading about the avcs issues. Also, how would i know which one is the right camshaft position sensor bank 1? Is that front or rear or driver side or passenger? Apparently there are 4 of them.

Well logging vvt is l&r specific. Bank1/2 can mean different things on different cars/systems iirc so just google the specifics :)

Not having much luck with this. The delearship says that there is only sensors A and B with no reference to bank 1 or 2. Any help would be appreciated.

Can you ask urd for the log? Post it here and we can all chime in, otherwise google that cel eg on this forum with related keywords to find solutions :)
Otherwise have a crack at inspecting, eg remove n refit, the cam sensor/s.
Heaps of info on your parts online and how to in the fsm.
This is the cam sensors from eg rhd 2.0 gt: http://opposedforces.com/parts/legacy/e ... sion_cord/
And the avcs solenoids:

Scroll down to the Australian etc legacy entry for your fsm:

Quick update - I have been off the forum for a little while however I am still unfortunately chasing the idle issue. I picked up a camshaft position sensor and changed it over after finding where the camshaft position sensor bank 1 was located but that didn't resolve the issue. Btw they are a nightmare to get out without breaking it in the block but WD40 over a couple of days and lots of wiggling did the job.

Then, I had the car for a quick diagnosis but mainly tuning with Matt from Kido Tuning (really lifted the performance of the car) and awesome bloke to deal with. He thought that it could have been the O2 sensor from live data, so I bought a new genuine O2 sensor that I swapped in during the week but the car is still running rough. :( I'm sure Matt would have picked up if fuel pressure was an issue, so I have parked that assumption for now.

I have also tried injector and engine cleaner as well just as part of maintenance and service of the car but no results. Any suggestions?

The car will be back in at URD next week for another look. Tony has been awesome and is very trustworthy IMO when it comes to diagnosis. I'll ask him for a log this time around so that I can post it on here.

Thanks for all the input - much appreciated!
