Heyyy all.

So I have a question I probably should have ask this question before, but anyway.
So I recently bought a front mount and will be installing soon... hopefully, however I noticed that most pictures I have seen are people who have an aftermarket CAI with a front mount. Can I pipe around the stock CAI or will i have to buy a new CAI.
If I have to buy a new one what do you recommend.
If it comes to, "yeah you'll need one, check this one out." I know I would need a re-tune which I can organise later down the path.

as someone who has just gone through the process of converting to FMIC setup i can tell you that you will ether need to cut holes in the factoring air box which i still have not seen done or do the easy task of installing a CAI.. also maybe think about getting an air box as matt was telling me that my cai was suckin air at 54'c so thats just great really

depending on what you get you may need to trim a small amount or u may need to take a full inch off
so after you have your front mount installed your car is gonna want to idle at like 500 - 800 rpm which is fun

Yeah I was thinking that I would have to go with a different CAI. Shit! oh well. I think I have been asking some people and they said to try a process west. which means I will need a re-tune.

Any recommendations from you guys for a new CAI. one that has little stuffing around ahah.

So I am doing some research trying to find one which I fancy. I kind of suck at searching and finding things myself ahah. I came across a post where a guy has a process west intake which is exactly like this one
which i deleted because the sensors wont match up. Yeah i will find one eventually.

so will this one do? I got the okay from one but i like other peoples opinions. my question is will the intake hose fit onto the stock inlet pipe?

just a point to make here is that most of the CAI that are for our cars rely on the fact that we run TMIC. when buying one make sure to look for clearance behind the headlights otherwise there is a high chance that the pod will be sitting snug or close to the hot side piping for the FMIC. i went with the AVO CAI and i find that it sits quite close to the piping.. also look at getting an air box to go around it to maximize the coolness of the air..

+1 for that KS Tech one. Most don't have any accomodation for the hot side pipes to go through the same chassis gap and just box the whole hole up. I've got the Grimmspeed one on mine. Works sweet and keeps intake temps down unless in stop/go traffic. Obviously closes up the chassis hole so had to run the intercooler piping further along down low in the bay. A side benefit is that it keeps the hot side piping about as far from the intake as physically possible

I purchased an actual kit. It will just be easier for me as I don't really have the correct tools to do much ahah. I went with a Cobb. Just need to organise a retune and than I can move onto installing the front mount.
