Odd warning light behaviour

Evening all

I had some odd warning light behaviour on my 2004 GT on the way home this evening.

Specifically, while cruising at around 100 km on the highway, i noticed that:

1. the orange engine-shaped warning light was on;

2. the green cruise control light was flashing.

I pulled over and consulted the manual - I could not find anything on the cruise control light but the orange engine shaped light might be related to emissions control functions. Neither light came back on when I restarted that car, or on the way home.

Any insights into what this might mean? Car has been regularly serviced and has low kilometres (less than 130,000) and is otherwise running well.

Thanks in anticipation

Most likely an 02 sensor mate. Quite common on these cars. Easy fix. If you can wait order from rhd japan or japanparts and you won't get ripped. To be sure you can get someone to read the code.

Yeah, I agree with the guys above. If you can get an OBDII reader, you can confirm what triggered the CEL (Check Engine Light). It could be a whole number of things, some more serious than others. By if the car ran fine, then an O2 sensor error Code is likely. It could also be the Catalytic Converter Efficiency Code, which I had recently and is also common as the Cats get older.
