250-300KW MY06 STI BUILD - Feedback?

Postby Infinity » Tue May 10, 2016 2:16 pm

Hi guys,

Im wanting to build my MY06 STI, i have a few things in mind to attempt to get to the power that i'd like.
Quick List of how i personally think i could achieve this..

Process West TMIC
Process West Turbo Inlet Piping
Aftermarket Intake Cooling system
Invidia Dump Pipe
3" Turbo Back exhaust system (May be custom)
3 Port Boost solenoid
Dyno Tune
Stock Vf38 Twin Scroll Turbo

Only reason for no forged internals, Seen a few builds running close to 250kw on stock internals.

If you have any suggestions, Please leave a reply
Thanks

Either way you're not going to get there with a VF38. You might get to 230 at the flywheel with a good tuner but you'll be at the very end of things with no headroom. Just go with what you are planning and you'll get a good increase, no lag, and a fun and reliable car to drive. If you really want a power figure you'd be around 180kw at the wheels.

Aiming at the wheels.

But thanks for feedback, For future references. What would be a recommended turbo upgrade as well as upgrading bottom end/top end etc to make that sort of power?

The only real answer is research and money. There's no bolt on, turn key solution to get you what you're after especially with the twin scroll set up so you're going to have to do some reading.

First thing is to work out a budget so you can work out how much power you can afford. It no good saying I want 300kw but I only have $5000 to do it and you don't want to forget the rest of the car. More power equals better brakes, and better suspension which in turn means better rubber. The old saying "speed equals money...how fast can you afford to go" ring true with hi tech as much as it did with v8s and carbs.

Good luck
