04 LGT overheating

Postby T_double_U » Thu Mar 03, 2016 10:25 pm

Okay i just got home from work and as i was pulling into my apartment complex i look down to see my temp gauge is sky high.. That explains the lack of power on the drive home then. I popped the bonnet to hear a hissing noise and steam coming from the top radiator hose area.

Is my radiator busted or have i done a head gasket?

Crap mate. Could be anything really. Get tne cooling system checked and hopefully HGs are ok. Alloy heads can warp due to overheating. Good luck.

Radiators are notorious for splitting. Replace radiator, fingers crossed the lack of pressure has not cause HG issues long term

Not too bad mate considering coolant, labour etc.. Keep an eye on your coolant overflow and make sure your'ne not blowing or losing coolant. Top up if needed. Good luck.
