Heatshield Rattle...Remove Heatshield?
Posted: Wed Dec 30, 2015 12:54 pmEver since the 100,00km Major service there has been a rattle supposedly because of a loose Heatshield. I asked my mechanics if they could do anything and they told me they could move the piece around and see if that works. It worked for a while and now the rattle is back. I recall them saying that they could remove the Heatshield all together.
So my questions are these:
if they remove the Heatshield would there be any repercussions I.e damage to the engine or anything like that?
What would be other alternatives that I should be aware of going into the next minor service?
Should I go to an exhaust place to get the piece welded back into place again (cost)?
Suggestions or advice is muchly appreciated!
