Hi there guys I'm new here. Just bought a manual Liberty Gt yesterday. Awesome car but it's hesitating like hell. While on idle it seems like it misfires and as I accelerate it goes like a pig. The turbo cuts in at 3200rpm and struggles abit then clears up. I bought it from a dealer. It's got full Subaru log books and been serviced every interval to date. Has only 160,000km on the clock. Any help on what the hell is going on here?? Cheers.

Boost/Vacuum leak most likely. Probably the turbo inlet pipe or the throttle body intake pipe.

Well my mechanic has been through the whole car and nothing seems to be wrong. He ran the machine and no codes came up. He recommended I take it to a tuner they will be able to diagnose the problem. Thoughts ?

with out someone having a look at logs thats all i can suggest, did he check coils and plugs?

If he can't do a simple boost/vacuum leak test, he's not a very good mechanic!
Take it somewhere who will do a smoke test on the intake.

Yeh coils and spark brand new. Check for boost leaks that was all good. So he has no idea what it could be. He did a manifold flush and Clean but didn't do anything.

Your issue sounds like a vacuum leak and not a boost leak.
What does your learning View look like?
Perhaps you can ask a member to plug in and take a look for you.
this can help fault find.

I would suspect a leaking inlet pipe from airbox to turbo myself. Smoke test can reveal this quickly

They can look fine but be leaking around the bottom edge where the oil that enters the intake will sit.....

Mmmm. Not sure what a learning view is lol ?? I'm looking to replace the inlet pipe soon. Should I do a smoke test to see if it's leaking or just change it anyway and see if it fixes the problem??

Sure can. Will give you a ring closer to the date.

Car is at tuners. Gotta get it sorted. Getting worse. Will post update when they find fault.

No error codes came up. Car seems to be better
