URGENT LIBERTY GT MAF SENSOR, SAME AS WRX?

I am looking into buying a CAI/short ram for my '04 liberty GT. I can't find ANY bloody MAF adapters on the net (if you could that would be awesome), but there are heaps of WRX ones. Would our air flow sensor fit into the holes of a wrx pipe?

THANK YOU SO MUCHH!!

No they're not all the same unfortunately. Depends on the year of wrx.
If you're just after the mounting plate for a liberty maf sensor, you can buy them on ebay US for around $50.

Do you know which year wrx is the same??

Have a look at OpposedForces.com

Says that the 2.0 Litre turbo used the MAF sensor 22680AA310

The usage information says that 22680AA310 was used on these Impreza models

To determine which particular models used what MAF sesnsor you would need to interrogate the OpposedForces.com site.
The MAF sensor is listed in the path Intake and supply system; turbocharger \ Air cleaner & element

As some of the MAF sensors are common between Liberty and Impreza I would guess that the air flow sensor will fit into the holes of a wrx pipe?

G12 WRX (07-?) uses a Meter assembly-air flow, 22680AA380 which is common with Diesel Outbacks and S12 Foresters.

What do you really mean by MAF Adaptor?
Are you trying to fit your Liberty GT MAF into a WRX CAI?

The MAF actually measures air velocity and temperature.
To be compatible, the MAF adaptor needs to locate the MAF in the correct spot in a tube of the same inner diameter to get a "correct" reading.
Air Velocity multiplied by Cross Sectional Area (inner diameter) calibrated for temperature gives (approximate) mass flow rate.
Cheers!

I was thinking of just buying a MAF adapter (pipe with holes for the MAF to bolt on) as well as a pod filter and just attaching the 2

Why install a CAI/pod?
You'll need a tune to accomodate the mod, and not see much performance benefit (other than extra noise) unless over 200atw.
And also fab or install an airbox to keep hot engine bay air from the intake.
If you want a little extra noise, just remove the milk bottle resonator.
If you do go the CAI route, best find a proven preFL mod for your specific model.
Or one your tuner recommends...

Just this week I had to diagnose a CEL light caused by nothing more than a CAI being installed. As the intake piping diameter and routing of the CAI was not EXACTLY the same as stock, and the MAF was mounted in a only slightly different position, the car ran extremely lean, particularly in the midrange, enough to put the CEL on for lean code.

Long story short - if you fit a CAI without getting a tune, your doing your car a dis-service.

Previous words of warning come true?
Play with the MAF or its location or tube diameter and the calibration is thrown out?
