Where does the blow off valve vacuum hose go?

Postby phly » Tue Jun 16, 2015 7:59 pm

Hey all, on my drive home I noticed my AFR kept going to lean whenever I was idling and when I opened the bonnet I could see my vacuum hose for the blow off valve has come off on the side not connected to the blow off valve. Can anyone tell me where im supposed to plug this?

Behind the intake manifold next to the pvc valve. Pop a cable tie on it. You may need to take your intercooler off to reach it.

It goes to the big port (with the metal tube in the silicone version in the pic).
Just above the turbulant flex joint...

The oem bov return hose is shaped to meet that port, once you get it in place, it should naturally meet up.
Get a zip tie or clamp on the hose, douse the area in WD40 or a similar slippery lube, remove the short fat bit from the inlet and jam an XL size screwdriver handle up the inlet pipe to remotely push the port into the bov return hose, then do up the ziptie or clamp.

Using that method, you may be able to cheat removing the tmic, maybe.
But do it asap, massive pre-turbo inlet leaks are not good. :)

Sorry Ben, wrong on this one.

The hose shown in the OPs first post attaches to a poly tube that is on the back of the intake manifold.

A good light will be needed and will probably need to remove the TMIC to be able to see what you are doing, use a cable tie and perhaps a tiny bit of silicone for peace of mind.

did it pop off? because they get hard & brittle...so I would trim 15mm off...back to the softer rubber
