I think you need to carefully consider what you would like out of the car......

If its just a little more power/driveability, get Matt to tune and you will be happy....(this will give you something like a 25% increase in power ATW) - done, everything will be OK - $400-$500

If you want something a little more special to drive then:

A Process West TMIC - $1,100
Larger of the Kinugawa's - $1,000
Dump - $1,000
Tune - varies depending on dyno time - allow for $800
HD Clutch - $1,100 + fitting

(This will probably give you around 50% increase in power ATW)

Either way, start with the tune...that might be enough...if not, Matt will probably retune at the cost of dyno time....

Good luck

Agreed..
At the moment I want an increase in power and driveability that's a bit more than just the tune....also, this pairs with the fact that I think my Catalytic Converter is gone as well, so now I can replace that and the dump in one swift move..

Getting it all fitted and tuned at Gotitrex..tune costs $800. Easier than organizing Matt from KiDo as it's all at the one place and i'm quite limited on spare time.

...and I just cannot afford over 5K lol

Based on advice from the kobemotorsports thread, I am thinking of getting the Silicon Inlet Hose and and getting it done at the same time as my dump pipe and tune, someone mentioned a catch can as well? What do you guys think and do you have any recommendations for assisting mods that I will find it very beneficial to do at the same time.

Ok so the catch can sounds like a good idea...catches the oil which would otherwise be coating the inside of my intercooler etc etc? Can't be too expensive..

So you are doing dump n tune, cool
I suggest you also do the turbo.
Don't worry about the intercooler and while the Silicone hose is a good move as are catch cans both these can be done later.
CURRENT - ATP GTX 3576 - 22psi - 283.7awkw
OLD - Dom 1.5Xtr - Last dyno 254ahkw, previous 238ahkw, first 224awkw.

Sounds like we'll end up worth similar mods. My turbo blew so I'm currently fitting silicone intake, throttle body hose, kinugawa 20T turbo, fuel pump, dump pipe and then getting a e-tune.

Total cost is:
$650 dump
$1100 turbo
$180 65c fuel pump
$80 throttle hose
$50 silicone inlet (second hand)
$250 tactrix OP2.0 cable
$400 kido tune

Which ~$2700 is way more than I can afford to spend on a car I just bought but makes sense to do it all at once. Sure hope it's good afterwards.

Hey guys,
Just can't afford to do the turbo at the moment, should I just lay off the silicon inlet and catch can until my turbo blows, then do them all at once?

Like I said, not chasing massive power, just an increase over what I have now!

By the way 2JZ, don't you have labour on top of all that?
My current costs are;

definite:
-$910 delivered PhatGT Dump Pipe with Cat
-$800 tune
-$200 dump pipe installation

possible:
-$250 Silicone Inlet +MAF
-$200-250? Oil catch can
-Labour for catch can

No labour as I do everything myself. I was really disappointed at stock performance so hopefully this will bring it to life. If the turbo didn't blow it would have just got dump and tune to begin with.
I'm the same, just want something that drives nice and is slightly quicker then the run of the mill falcodore or aurion.

Guys,

Do I need to be checking what ECU I have to see whether I can even get my car tuned? I only just read that it's possible I have a Hitachi ECU which is not tuneable? (With ease)

Just got home and checked my ecu....
