No turbo boost

Postby matt_linegar » Sat Sep 13, 2014 11:25 am

Hi everyone

My liberty GT has suddenly dropped power and I don't think the turbo is kicking in at all. Had a service this morning and no faults shown on the engine management system. No funny noises and no visible evidence of burning oil. In every other respect the engine is running normally.

Is there anything other than a broken turbo that might cause this? Could it actually be a fuel supply problem...?

All help appreciated.

No boost at all? OR just low peak boost and very slow spool?

If it's the latter, it could be an exhaust leak pre-turbo.
Finger's crossed it's not a completely busted turbo...

If the turbo itself was busted, I suspect you would know it. My first thought is also an exhaust leak, though I'm faaaaaar from an expert.

2 cans of subaru head cleaner solved it!

I'm staggered how this made such a difference.

$50 well spent :D
