So to clarify, the turbo Archie inquired about:
http://shopping.kinugawaturbo.com/kinug ... oll-1.aspx

will bolt onto a pre-face automatic GT, without having to modify anything else, correct?

And it therefore will fit a manual pre-face GT, but will need the down pipe to be modded to fit?

Yes will fit; no you'll not need to modify your stock down pipe ;)

I could have sworn there was some difference in the auto vs manual down pipe for the 2 litre engine? For example, looking at the down pipe threads in the G88 sub-forum, Phat GT and buyers talk about AT and MT versions.

Hence I figured my down pipe on my manual 2.0 would have to be modified to match up with this Kinugawa turbo.

It's to do with the clearance of the different sized gearboxes not the shape of the turbo.

I had this issue when I had my Forester, I needed a Lib 5EAT down pipe as it had a 5EAT in it...

Ah, thank you for the clarification. Now to let my brains and common sense battle it out with my leaden right foot to decide if I should buy one or not….

Is anyone else thinking it's worthwhile organising a group buy?

That's beautifully succinct, Ian  I most likely will go ahead with one.

Not to hijack the thread, but for support mods will I need a bigger fuel pump and injectors?

I've already got a Hyperflow TMIC, and will line up a tune of course.

Decent down pipe with a bell mouth flange (or separated pipe like the Grimmspeed design)

Stock injectors are pretty decent at 550c (or whatever they are)

Nope nothing needed just bolt in and choooon ;)

I'm saying injectors are fine given that with my Foz, I had plenty of head room on 98 with the injectors but had reached upper limit of turbo efficiency.
Different story with E85/eFlex though

Yep. Stock injectors will be mint. I think you will run out of stock fuel pump at around 170kw at wheels.

All pre-face have same flange. It is twin scroll so the AVO, CES or PhatGT DP's for Pre-FL will fit

Yeah nah.

We are talking about fuel pumps here. Mine flopped at high 170s...

I can believe that. :D

I'd like to bring to your attention - I've seen a number of postFL libs on this forum near 200 on stock pump. At least one I can think of running 180atw on a tuff Melbourne dyno (with no issues?). My own 5eat made close to 170 on a similar dyno, limited by turbo, not fueling.

Not sure how comparable these numbers are to Melb - on MSR's dyno the stock pump maxes out at 230atw.

I agree it's not something worth stretching, if on a budget/not planning more power - it should get you to 200atw fine.
