Hi there Guys,

Since Front 02 sensors are known to be a common issue on our model cars , i wanted to share the following with you all.

I recently started having intermittent idle issues with the car but everything else is ok. After doing fair bit of research , i found out it can relate to 3 - 4 most common things.

Dirty MAF Sensor
Vacuum Leaks
Filter in Bango bolts and
O2 sensor

I cleaned the MAF sensor and the issue didnt go away. I then checked the bango bolts and found out that the filters were already removed. I checked for vacuum leaks and all hoses seemed to be fine. Then i spoke with Matt (Kido) and he basically told me it might be my O2 sensor (thanks for that Matt).

I checked my current front O2 sensor and the number on it is : 22641AA220

I have been told that there is an updated version of the O2 sensor and the part number for that is 22641AA391.

So my search for the O2 sensor began, checked with subaru, mrt , phat etc. price ranging from $250 - $480.

Then i found these guys on ebay !
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... ink:top:en

02 sensor is listed for $183.99 with free postage and delivery and they are located in Australia.

I bought one of these today and waiting for delivery, i will give you an update once i receive the new sensor and after i fit it on the car!

I thought this post might save someone out there bit of time and hopefully money ...

Cheers,

Ras

The ones phat / garage88 get are the updated ones, not like the ones in the link

These are a much better design and are not as susceptible to failure as the original ones (and the one in the eBay link above)

I would much rather pay the little bit extra for peace of mind and improved design - particularly considering the importance of a functional 02 sensor for your afr's in closed loop.

I'm guessing you've already seen my thread about the O2 sensor?

This is a side by side of the stock (left) and the revised (right) inclusive of part numbers. The new one was purchased through Garage88 (aka Phat)

This pic shows the physical difference FYI

Have just replaced my second new design o2 sensor in 6 months. They seem no better than the old rubbish to me.

Yep have to agree. Myself and a mate have found the same thing. Seems to be an annual affair now. At least you can get them quite cheap. I'm at the point where I might just run in open loop all the time :?

Dirty injector or a dead injector? Bet it pulls a truck load harder now as well!

Probably also time to look into a new pump eg dw75c, eg from tuspeed, OEM in- tank filter eg from Makin & Luby or your dealer, and 2x 18mm Sparkplug non foulers to help save the O2 sensors :)

As well as the rest ;)
