Up-pipe?

I see a lot of literature which recommends changing the up-pipe on a WRX. Just wondering, does the Liberty have such a pipe, and if so, can someone direct me to whereabouts this thing is? Or is it just the first half of what we refer to as the downpipe?

I think the down pipe is a combination of the dump + front, I really have no idea but I was talking about it today and that is what we came up with...

There are plenty of jap after market up pipes out there.
A good pipe will make it spool faster.
