I will try to catch when it throws a CEL but its too random. I really wanted to like this car and was hoping this would be an easy fix. The lib gt, as a whole, is what i want in a car but too bad i got a lemon.

Your video has the exact same damn problem as my car. Like down to the T. The only thing is. Mine is a 2.5i... I'm thinking that maybe it's a problem with the sensor on the pedal. One thing I've realised that your vid kind of shows is it idles perfectly until you touch the pedal. I've found that you don't even need to blip it high. Just the slightest touch and suddenly my revs drop down to almost a stall (or a stall) and then re-gain.

Didn't manage to save all the codes I threw but one time I got:
P2127- Throttle/pedal position sensor Circuit low input switch E
P2122 - same as above but switch D

Hi Guys

I thought i would chip in a bit as my car has had similar symptoms hence me finding this forum and this post. My car has been has a very similar symptom to the video, when driving at almost any speed and i take my foot of the gas the revs drop very quickly to 1k and when i pull up the engine comes very close to stalling before recovering. Anyway i suspected front o2 sensor but when i got scanned for codes i got P0725 engine speed sensor, i have changed the crank sensor to no avail and going to try the cam sensor next..

It does not exist on an engine with an electronic throttle, since the ECU uses the throttle to replace the IACV

That's what I thought. Gonna give the throttle a downright good clean. I was pretty dirty in there when I pulled the intake off.

All good, You're far from the first person to recommend it. I only got to have a really good look yesterday to confirm my suspicions of non-existance

Just to update this...I found a hose unplugged after last service that hides behind the alternator, apparantly MAF related? I plugged it back in and no more stalling or codes.
Cruise control still flashes periodically and never engages and revs hold down low after releasing the accelerator though. So im thinking unrelated to P0638 CEL but obviously still a problem. Car still drives fine without any real issues otherwise, for now anyway.........

Hi guys
sorry to dig up an old thred.
I'm experiencing the same issue with my 04(my05) GT.
One day my ground cable of the amp (for sound system) come off while driving, and the cel come up.
I put ground cable back in the cel comes off. But since than the cel comes up randomly.
Mainly it come us when I'm sitting at traffic light or car is been parked with engine still runing, and the engine hunts for the idle. A few second later the cel will come up. I took it to the mechanic but he said he can only find the p0638 code in history. Not current. So his suggestion was to change the throttle body and whole lot.

I heard it may be some ground issue, if any of you have picture of where is the related ground cable for throttle/gas pedal etc that would be great!

Any info is helpful and Thanks in advance.
