K&N Cold Air Intake - Help Please

Postby anfpezza » Mon Jul 29, 2013 1:00 pm

Hi Guys,

New to this forum, so sorry if this has been addressed before. I has a search and couldn't find anything on it.

I have a Liberty GT 2005 2.0L. Looking to install the K&N Typhoon CAI http://www.knfilters.com/search/product ... 69-8003TFK

Can get it for about $330 though.

Question is does anyone know if it will fit on the my 05 2.0L EJ20? it says it fits 2.5L 2005 model, however only 2.0L GT's were made in 2005 as far as I know.

Thanks

It will fit. Bear in mind that you will need a tune too.
Kinda flush. Fitment is something. ADM as F*ck.

Thanks for that.

I was planning on getting the CAI, then exhaust, then getting a tune

Hey mate I've got it on my 2.0gt haven't tuned it yet no issues no faults direct swap kinda louder in sound but you learn to love it, power wise i cant comment on much as its not tuned to run at optimal levels but will bolt up 100% :)

Don't bother with it

Waste of money and if you fit it and drive even 10kms without a tune you definitely WILL cause damage to your engine

If you really must, then grab a panel filter.

Stock air box is fine up to 200awkw which you won't even sniff with the stock turbo

It's fine, I've had mine on for roughly 1000kms including a trackday without a tune and absolutely no problems at all. And it'll definitly fit the 2.0's.

Um - no it's not fine

I can pretty much guarantee you have done some engine damage. Without a smidgeon of a doubt

My absolute pet hate is when people who have little to no clue dish advice out like this without consideration to the person asking.

Let me ask you mr giant - are you prepared to cop the repair bill for a new motor when the OP blows his engine due to your advice that "its fine"??

OP - please ditch this rubbish
