EcuTek and MRT Intake

Postby MishaGT » Fri Mar 28, 2008 1:08 pm

Sup Lads,

I'm looking into getting the MRT intake and EcuTek done to my standard manual 05 GT. Probably going to get Mercury Motorsport to do this as I am in Brisbane. Anyone got any feedback or reviews on these guys?

Also what kind of power am I looking at getting with these 2 mods? I know its minimal but im interested in numbers.

Cheers,
Misha.

Depends on tuner. the ECUTek will probably up your boost as well, so you'll easily get 30+kW at the wheels, I think.

A few of the boys have done their ecutek tune through mercury and were happy with the results. I also plan on going to them for one soon. :)

I have 04GT.

HiTech mufflers and Apexi intake and tune took me from 113atw to 150atw.

I would expect a gain of about 30kw

the intake isnt worth it unless you just like the louder induction noise..

max another 5kws with a tune

the factory airboxes flow well enough

I have always heard and believed that the intake on the GT's is one of the most restrictive parts to obtaining power.

agree with skoobyGT there, liberty GT intake is restrictive.
i easy gained more power out of this and my TMIC over my cat back system.
Pretty sure this MRT article discussed it

Doesn't appear they flow to well from that article.

Proving my point.

did you read the article ?? Ecutek is a great tuning tool im not doubting that.

but that article refers to a bigger intercooler and tune and cai as part of the deal.

if you like the mod, its all good.

The way I read it, they are saying the twinscroll is the 'weak' point and the other things don't amount to much!
