JDM downpipe for '07 BP5 facelift

Postby chimera » Tue Jul 02, 2013 9:03 pm

Looking for a DP for '07 legacy GT. i realise this is an aussie site but assume there are a few kiwis lurking here, so pref to pick one up locally. I've searched forums here, searched google, looked on eBay etc. sure I can get one from the states but left hand drive concerns me in regards to fitment - not to mention crazy shipping costs if I found one that did fit. I could possibly live with importing one from Aussie if the price is right. What does everyone else do in regards to DP's? Thanks

Yes, BP5 GT facelift. Which turbo... errr... I'm actually unsure!

I found this, might explain a few differences. Not alot of info about the turbo though:

Nice car mate. Looks pretty much exactly the same as the Postface Liberty GT we have here, except they're 2.5L not 2.0L

Someone around here will know which turbo and what'll bolt up.. Just gotta wait for them to chime in.

Vf44 or vf45

You will not find one in Australia. Closest thing you will find is a vf38 which is the bush bearing version of the twin scroll vf44/45, and a backward step

Unless you get really lucky and find one hanging off an imported legacy ej20y revision D or E motor

Good luck

Thanks for the reply - but I'm not after a turbo, I'm after the downpipe for the existing one.

Well I'm gonna talk to a local subby specialist in Auckland they make them for the 03-06 models will see if I can sweet talk them into fabricating some for the '07+ models at a reasonable price... expressions of interest if you are keen...!

From what Mick said it sounds like the dump will be the same as the VF38/TD04HLA twinscroll dump we use here in Oz

Found out mines a VF44 twin scroll. So, the guys at subtech reckon the DP they have should fit. Booked in for next week, so will see how it goes...
