The vf34's have restriction pills in the vac lines associated with boost control. Leave them in with a stock 2 port boost controller. Can take them out if you go 3 port. That is probably the orifices he was talking about.

OK, I do not have the vacuum lines for this turbo.

Mick/dr20t can most likely confirm if the stock turbo has the same Vac lines, I cannot remember.
Kinda flush. Fitment is something. ADM as F*ck.

Fkd if I know lol

Haven't seen a vf38 for a looong time now.

I'm sure the restrictor pill is the same but cannot confirm for certain

I honestly doubt its a 3 bar actuator. The vf34 is not THAT efficient.

Basically a 3 bar actuator tells you the minimum default boost bleed point for the turbo. So the turbo should be comfortable making that boost all the time.

I can tell you now a vf34 will not like to see 28psi even ten times let alone all the time

HEy Dr, what are my options as per using the stock intercooler with this turbo. I know they don't match :-/

Buckley's..

Need intercooler change. If you're going to a vf36/37/42/49/53 twin scroll then you may as well grab a jdm Sti TMIC, and have someone make you a new TMIC to throttle body pipe

Guy did it said it cost only $200! and the intercooler volume is bigger than the size of stock!

Volume of intercooler not something to be happy about (smaller is better), cooling ability (thermal efficiency) and flow through are the most important IMHO.

Go Process West TMIC I reckon.

I couldn't find the 1.5 scroll uppipe, have to be using an UEL header for my setup
The ones i see are for vf36/37 etc. I'm almost sure the twinscroll pipe holes for the legacy is smaller than those of the sti

:( :(

I have an idea, not sure how well this would work. But what If I take the up pipe from the twinscroll and make my own 2-into-1?

So i guess the shop would cut it and bend it into place then?

I was about to buy this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUBARU-IMPREZA- ... 44&vxp=mtr

But not sure about the twinscroll section of this pipe would bolt back to mine
I'd probably would have bid like $100 and won.
