Dropped the engine today,

Removed oil pan, found lots of shavings.
I have At LEAST a spun bearing.

Now, looking on the oil we drained it was as thin as orange juice. Now the garage guys and myself
are wondering if there are some knockoff 10w30 AMSOIL on the market.

I changed oil 2 weeks ago

The crank is very hard to turn, stiff. I hope i didn't drag a piston too

Bent rod that had the spun bearing

So now I'm not even sure what killed it. Detonation compounding leading to more and greater detonation?
IF so then I see firsthand the importance of leaving a huge margin for error in the timing and fuel map

I rebuilt my bottom end and the mechanic said my timing belt was good so i didn't replace. I trusted his judgement.
After starting up and idling for half hour the belt snapped. Valves bent.

Then i contacted a specialist and he said once the belt comes off he never reuses it for two reasons:

1. The belt stretches
2. The rotation of the belt may change unless it is marked. If u put it on another way than the way it was installed the nylon alignment in it will be disturbed and weakens.

Little did i know...go figure

Update: That engine where the timing belt broke spun bearing.

With this new engine, lower compression ratio and valves re-shimmed I can finally say my power levels are where they are supposed to be.
Take a look

I didn't even get to dyno 3rd gear. Pretty sure in 3rd it will be higher.

This was 18psi tapering to 14.
Max whp at 16.5psi, 18* timing and about 10.7 AFR
THat's 4 more degree of timing over my old engine. And NO KNOCK. I didn't even raise it until it knocks. I just thought it felt strong enough and at that level that is enough

Car weight explanation: Leather seats and a stereo system (2 amps, speaker box, door speakers)
