Changing valve cover gaskets

I've got a little bit of oil leaking onto the exhaust from the engine (seems to be from the valve cover) so thought I'd change them. Saw a couple of posts on the legacygt forums that you need "gasket maker". I assume there's a generic product that will do the trick either from loctite or permatex? Also anyone know the best place to get the gaskets as I assume subaru will want an arm and a leg...

I've never used gasket goo on rocker covers, I use it only in places that don't have gaskets, or where a metal gasket is used, ie water pump.

For graphite, cork or rubber gaskets I suggest hylomar, a spray on sealant.

Your local auto store should be able to source a seal kit if you don't want to consider genuine.

Nice. Cheers for that, I'll look into it.
