BP5 BP9 What's the difference

Postby Boost » Wed Mar 13, 2013 12:13 pm

Hi guys,

I'm a bit confused here. I'm looking at a downpipe for my 2004 GT wagon automatic.
The downpipe manufacturer says its suitable for an automatic BP9. Will this also fit my wagon ??

Thanks for your help.

The engine size. "5" is the 2L and "9" is the 3L or 3.5L (it changes depending on the year model)

In this context, BP9 is the 2.5L engine. Yours, being a 2L, would be a BP5. So to answer your question Steve, no that dump pipe won't fit your model wagon unfortunately :(

remember that US cars don;t have steering on the RHS of the car to worry about so sometimes the dumps will interfere with our steering gear

You need one from Japan or the UK, the local 2L got a different twin scroll turbo flange to the US guys.

I believe Garage88 make them, give them a call

Yep!

BP5/BL5 is the Pre Face Lift models ie 04 - 06 and BP9/BL9 is the Post Face Lift models ie 07 - 09

BPE/BLE is the 3.0 models, regardless of face lift/model year

There certainly are. HKS make a dump to suit along with a couple of other brands which I can't recall at the moment..

Im sure there are, but (from what i read in one of your other posts) you're best off waiting the extra month for G88 to make new ones!
You will be more than pleased :)

(irrespective of pre/post facelift)
BL = Gen4 Sedan
BP = Gen4 Wagon

5 = 2.0L
9 = 2.5L
E = 3.0L

It's as simple as that :)
