MY06 Tuned STi: how many catalytic converters?

I am getting a custom exhaust done and wanted to know if my car has one or two catalytic converters and if the front/up pipe has one like some of the Forester's?
Has anyone replaced the up/front pipe and have you gotten good gains? From my understanding replacing the front pipe is labour intensive and didn't want to spend the extra if there was little to be gained.

Unless your going a big turbo upgrade as well, the front up pipe will provide no gains in the mid to low end and only minimal gains up top. It's generally not worth considering if you're running an IHI turbo.
The liberty does not have a cat in the up pipe, only 2 from the turbo back.

Thanks for the info. The car is booked in to Custom Exhaust Specialists (
www.cesracing.com.au). I will be replacing both OEM catalytic converters with a single hi-flo stainless steel catalytic converter.
Can someone suggest which position I should retain? The one in the dump after the first O2 sensor or the second one after the second O2 sensor?

If you look at all aftermarket dumps, they have the cat in the upper position after the first o2 sensor.
